Anna Driver, M.A.
Resident in Counseling
Trauma & EMDR Therapist in Virginia Beach
Helping teens and adults navigate trauma, anxiety, crises, and other challenges while reconnecting with themselves.
A Personal Welcome
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when you're carrying the weight of difficult experiences, constant worry, or changes that leave you feeling disconnected from yourself. Whatever has brought you to therapy, you don't have to navigate it alone.
I believe healing begins in a space where you feel safe, supported, and genuinely heard. My role isn't to tell you who you should be or how you should live your life. Instead, I work alongside you to better understand your experiences, recognize your strengths, and help you develop practical tools that support lasting growth and emotional well-being.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. Every person's story is unique, so I tailor therapy to your individual needs, goals, and experiences rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. Together, we'll work at a pace that feels comfortable while building insight, resilience, and confidence along the way.
Before becoming a counselor, I spent many years working in advocacy and community support, helping individuals and families navigate crisis, housing instability, domestic violence, sexual assault, and trauma recovery. Those experiences continue to shape the way I approach therapy—with compassion, respect, and the belief that meaningful healing happens through connection, trust, and practical support.
Whether you're working through trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or a significant life transition, my hope is that therapy becomes a place where you feel understood, empowered, and better equipped to move toward the life you want to build.

My Approach
Clients often appreciate my calm, grounded presence and collaborative approach. I strive to create an environment where people feel accepted without judgment while also feeling gently encouraged toward meaningful change. My goal is to help you feel safe enough to explore difficult experiences while building practical skills that support healing beyond the therapy room.
Trauma-Informed Care
Healing begins with safety. I take a trauma-informed approach that honors your experiences, respects your pace, and creates space for meaningful healing without pressure or judgment.
Collaboration & Connection
Therapy is a partnership. Together, we'll explore what's contributing to your current challenges, identify your strengths, and develop a treatment plan that reflects your goals and values.
Practical Growth
Insight is important, but so is knowing what to do with it. Alongside deeper understanding, we'll build practical coping skills and strategies that support resilience and lasting change in everyday life.

Beginning therapy can feel like a big step, but you don't have to take it alone. If you're ready to better understand yourself, work through life's challenges, and move toward meaningful change, I'd be honored to be part of that journey.
